TE Connectivity's R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems. WHAT YOUR BACKGROUND SHOULD LOOK LIKE:

* Associate degree minimum in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

* Must understand and be able to connect basic AC and DC electric test circuits.

* Familiarity with high current and high voltage power equipment helpful. Understanding of electronics components is a plus.

* Must have thorough understanding of electrical test equipment, including but not limited to oscilloscopes and multimeters.

* Familiarity with environmental test chambers that utilize Programmable PID controllers, and other laboratory equipment such as vibration test systems is a plus.

* Able to handle data acquisition, recording, and reporting consistent with good laboratory techniques.

* Also, must be familiar with the use of personal computers and Microsoft Office software.

* Good communication skills for a technical setting

* Capable of using basic hand tools

* Current passport

RESPONSBILITIES

* Become familiar with industry standards for conducting laboratory tests.

* Become familiar with the technical aspects of the products.

* Become familiar with all the instruments necessary to conduct laboratory tests.

* Learn how to read customer specifications and write procedures.

* Set up product tests, utilitilzing knowledge of electrical circuits

* Make data recordings using all the applicable instumentation

* Learn to present test results in clear and concise reports

* Be motivated to accept challenges that stretch your capabilities

* Be motivated to continually expand your knowledge and skills
