Responsibilities
Our organization is seeking a reliable and organized Shift
Coordinator to work under the Residential Manager in our
residential facility. The Shift Coordinator will be responsible for
supervising the activities of our residential facility during their
designated shift, ensuring that our residents receive quality care
and services, and that the facility runs smoothly. The Shift
Coordinator regularly ensures the safety and security of the
facility at all times by monitoring the movement of the units,
ensuring programming is followed, supporting Youth Care Specialist
staff and following all facility Policies and Procedures.The ideal
candidate will have excellent communication skills, a positive
attitude, and the ability to work well in a team environment. The
Shift Coordinator actively works to support the facility mission of
providing an environment of safety so that the residents feel
empowered to heal the wounds of the past and build a foundation of
hope for the future.Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and oversee the daily
activities of the residential facility during their designated
shift. Ensure that all facility operations run smoothly, and that
residents receive quality care and services.Supervise and provide
guidance to staff during the shift, including assigning tasks and
monitoring performance.Ensure compliance with all policies and
procedures, including health and safety regulations.Maintain
accurate and up-to-date records of resident activities, staff
performance, and facility operations. Communicate effectively with
other staff members, residents, families, and external service
providers. Report any issues or concerns to the Residential Manager
in a timely manner.
- Proactively supports Specialists on the units by stepping in to
allow them to take breaks or providing other positive support in
situations of acuity, crisis or other unit issues.
- Ensures the efficient operation of the treatment milieu during
assigned shift(s) including the implementation of resident
activities and experiences in accordance with the unit's
programming and facility policies, procedures, and philosophy.
- Works with Residential Director/Residential Manager to manage
shift schedules for Youth Care Specialists to maintain unit
assignments and proper staffing ratios while maximizing workflow,
minimizing overtime and maintaining the safety and security of the
house.
- Perform all other duties as assigned. Education and/or
Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership
role
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational
skills
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance
requirements
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectivelyThe

setting limits on whichever shift assigned. Crisis intervention

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must

- Education and/or ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED required
and one (1) year experience working in a children's services
program or residential setting is preferred. Associate's or
bachelor's degree in human services, psychology or related field
preferred.

License with appropriate EndorsementsCertified in CPR and First
Aid
- Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as
safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and
policy/procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports,

occasionally be required to physically restrain clients, using
authorized hold procedures as a last resort for protection of
resident and staff.
- Work EnvironmentThe work environment for this position is a
residential facility setting. While performing the duties of this
job, the employee will be exposed to clients who may ask
inappropriate personal questions, display socially unacceptable
personal behaviors, use profanity and sexually explicit phrases,
make insulting remarks or threats regarding appearance, age, sex,
or race, and exhibit defiance, dishonesty, and assaultive or self-
destructive behaviors. The employee is occasionally exposed to
outside weather conditions, and may be subject to occasional local
travel as required by facility needs. The noise level in the work
environment is usually quiet to moderate.
