Locum Nurse Practitioner – Surgery (Cardiothoracic) in Springfield,
OH Are you an experienced Nurse Practitioner specializing in
Cardiothoracic Surgery seeking a rewarding temporary opportunity?

essential position, you will work closely with cardiovascular
surgeons, assisting in complex surgical procedures, coordinating
patient care, and interpreting diagnostic tests within a dynamic
environment. The role involves a combination of OR call and
ICU/CVICU call coverage, supporting a patient caseload averaging
5-20 per day. The position is ideal for Nurse Practitioners with
cardiothoracic, vascular, or critical care experience, and is
designed for seasoned professionals seeking locum assignments that
challenge and develop their expertise. Key skills required include:
Proven experience in cardiothoracic or vascular surgery, or
critical care settings Ability to interpret tests and assist in
surgical procedures Strong patient management and coordination
skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Proficiency
with EMR systems, preferably Epic Ability to work independently and
handle call responsibilities effectively Nice to have skills:
Experience with vein harvesting and vascular tissue retrieval Prior
involvement in OR procedures and perioperative patient care
Knowledge of adult and geriatric patient populations Preferred
education and experience: Nurse Practitioner license with current
certification Minimum of 2 years’ experience in cardiothoracic,
vascular, or critical care nursing Familiarity with Epic EMR system
Other requirements: Credentialing anticipated within 60-90 days,
with temporary privileges available in approximately 45 days
Ability to work April through July, with specific dates to be
determined Willingness to participate in OR and ICU/CVICU call
duties Valid state licensure and certifications applicable to
advanced practice nursing Travel reimbursements and licensing fees
