Columbus, Ohio Work Model: Float (Onsite support across 3 sites
within a 7.5-mile radius) Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30
PM EST Status: Full-Time Position Overview The Health Information
Specialist I (HIS I) is responsible for processing all release of
information (ROI) requests, specifically medical record requests,
in a timely and efficient manner while ensuring accuracy and
compliance with HIPAA and company policies The ideal candidate is
organized, adaptable, and experienced in electronic medical record
(EMR) systems. This position requires the ability to multitask in a
fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining strict
confidentiality standards. Key Responsibilities Process Release of
Information (ROI) requests accurately and efficiently Retrieve and
compile medical records from EMR systems Assist patients in person
with obtaining medical records Float between supported facilities
to ensure consistent coverage Ensure HIPAA compliance when handling
all protected health information Pull and generate reports as
needed Answer inbound calls and respond to record inquiries Perform
administrative functions related to ROI processing Maintain
organized documentation and tracking of requests Communicate
effectively with healthcare staff, patients, and requestors
Maintain productivity and quality standards Training & Onboarding
Datavant DHISC training • Hands-on, role-specific training during
the first 30 days Preferred Skills Strong communication skills •
Understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations • Computer
proficiency and data entry accuracy • Ability to multitask in a
fast-paced environment Qualifications High School Diploma or GED •
Must be 18 years of age or older • Computer proficiency and data
entry accuracy • Strong customer service skill To ensure the safety
of patients and staff, many of our clients require post-offer
health screenings and proof and/or completion of various
vaccinations such as the flu shot, Tdap, COVID-19, etc. Any
