The RN provides age-appropriate care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans. Clinical decisions are made using sound scientific knowledge, nursing theory, and clinical expertise. The RN also assists in planning, directing, and educating non-RN staff, including Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), and Unit Secretaries, to ensure safe and effective patient care.
