Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a
qualified Oncology RN in Columbus, Ohio, 43210! Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical
Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Night Hours per Shift:
12 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required. License:
Valid nursing license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS
preferred. Must-Have: Med surg experience required. Oncology
experience preferred. Description: This position involves working
in a hematology oncology unit. Staffing ratios aim to be 1:4 but
may vary based on unit needs. Weekend shifts are variable and
depend on unit requirements. There is no set or blocked scheduling.
Self-scheduling requests will be considered before finalizing
schedules. The first week of orientation occurs on day shift. The
second week includes on-unit orientation with a preceptor. Floating
to other medical/surgical and oncology units may be required.
Patient diagnoses include lymphoma, multiple myeloma, acute
leukemias, chronic leukemias, and other hematological conditions.
Special procedures in this role involve administering chemotherapy,
blood transfusions, and IV antibiotics. You will handle oncologic
emergencies and manage insulin and heparin drips. There is a
significant focus on infection prevention and patient fall
protocols. Skills required include telemetry interpretation,
administering blood products, and managing central lines. Knowledge
of computerized charting and software systems is essential. A
strong understanding of oncology nursing care is preferred.
Candidates should have experience with patient handling and body
fluid precautions. Two professional references from supervisory
