DescriptionGeneral Purpose and Scope of Position:
The Inside Sales Person is integral to the Sales team for increasing sales volume by providing the main objectives: (1) increase the number of cold calls against the sales pipeline and follow up on literature and sample requests; (2) assist marketing in adding prospects to the pipeline via secondary research; and (3) keeping databases up to date, running status reports and communicating to management and the sales team.
Key Skills and Abilities Include:


  • Working knowledge of chemical terminology. Bachelor's degree in Business or a similar field preferred
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to use the internet to perform secondary research about prospective companies
  • The ability to multi-task
  • Proven experience in inside sales in the chemical industry with a broad understanding of chemical markets
  • 5 year minimum inside sales experience

    Key Personal Attributes Include:

    • Strong organizational skills and a self-starter
    • Excellent communication skills to develop remote relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
    • Excellent team player. Newly developed accounts will be transitioned to external sellers once developed to a size that is appropriate.

      Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

      • Increase the number of cold calls made against the sales pipeline and follow up on literature and sample requests of the same. Expectations are that the successful candidate can make multiple outbound calls per hour on a typical day. Will need to be knowledgeable and comfortable with all core manufactured chemistries as well as key resale chemistries. Will need to maintain relationships with Industrial Chemical Marketing as well as the outside Sales Team.
      • Attend key tradeshows to market NASi capabilities and identify potential customers.
      • Maintain a call log for contact history as well as reminders to regularly circle back to customers with new information or offers.
      • Ability to research companies placed in the pipeline by marketing to find the best sales approach. Also able to use the internet to add additional prospects to the pipeline based on existing successes.
      • Maintain the pipeline database, adding prospects from various sources and tracking the status of the accounts. Developing regular reports to communicate status to management and external sales team.
      • Limited travel is expected.
