Fire Protection Systems Engineer What you will do In this vitalrolethe Senior Facilities Fire Prevention Systems Engineeris responsible forproviding Fire Protection/Fire Alarm engineering support and collaboration with HVAC/Utilities/Architectural SMEs at the Amgen Ohio and regional sites. Provide technicalexpertiseto leadfire prevention systems designs (fire sprinkler, fire alarm, gas detection,fire code, and FM insurance)forfacilities & utilities capital projects (both GMP and non GMP) Interact withFactory Mutual our insurance provider, regulatory bodies, Building Officials & Fire Marshall's Interact with A&E and ConstructionManagementfirms to deliver projects on budget and schedule Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and fire systems issues in the field Ensureoptimaland cost-effective, code compliant, and insurance optimized facilities and utility systems Develop, organize, analyze, and present results for operational issues and engineering projects of moderate scope and complexity Support development of life cycle management strategies for facility fireprotection, fire alarm, and hazardous gaseslife safety systems What we expect of you We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degree OR Masters degree and 2 years ofOperations or Engineering experience OR Bachelors degree and 4 yearsofOperationsor Engineering experience OR Associates degree and 8 yearsofOperations or Engineering experience OR High school diploma / GED and 10 yearsofOperationsor Engineering experience Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree orMasters DegreeinFire Protection/Mechanical/Electrical/Architectural Engineering or related technical field (NICET 1-IV in Fire Alarm and/ or Fire Protection) 5years experiencein engineering in a manufacturing support environment with some experience of GMPs in the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology, Semi-conductor industries, Naval or Merchant Marine. Experience managing projects of small/medium size from concept to funding approval/execution requirements definition, options analysis, all design phases/review/approval Experience with Commissioning up of facilities & fire alarm systems, fire protection systems, gasdetectionand alarm systems Experience with freezers/cold rooms, HVAC systems, fume hoods, bio-safety cabinets, laminar flow benches, chiller & cooling tower systems, fire protection, fire alarm, close loop pumping systems, electrical systems/motor controls, building automation, chemical storage & handling, H-occupancies, laboratory equipment/laboratory gasses, vacuum systems, boilers and steam/condensate handling, compressed air/gasses, cryo-gasses, fuel handling systems, tank farm, data centers, architectural/roofing systems, elevators, material handling equipment, warehouses & loading dock equipment, parking structures, underground piping/utilities Detailed understanding of Building Codes, including chemical usage & hazardous classification Direct experience and familiarity with FM Insurance Loss Prevention Data Sheets, FM Approvals, and FMRoofNAV Direct experience with regulated environments (i.e.cGMP, OSHA, EPA, state IBC/ IFC) including understanding ofcGMPs Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated interpersonal and facilitation skills and ability to work in a collaborativeteam basedenvironment. The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
